Remedial Massage
Remedial means to ‘make better’, to remedy or cure. Remedial massage is a highly effective modality to prevent and to treat the soft tissues of the body. Soft tissue include; muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments). Apart from treating problem areas within the body, the treatment encourages deep relaxation and a sense of letting go of unwanted tension, which so often are the cause of chronic imbalances.
A wide range of techniques are applied during a remedial massage such as skin rolling, light/deep strokes and stretching and mobilisations. But as well as these more classical style approaches Celine integrates the light and compressive touch of myofascial release.
Myofascial Release is a form of gentle hands-on therapy that addresses imbalances and restrictions of the fascia/connective tissue in the body. It is a highly effective approach used to promote wellbeing, decrease or eliminate pain and to restore range of movement.
The John F Barnes’ MFR Approach is unique and has worldwide recognition as a powerful and holistic form of bodywork which combines stretching/self – care techniques. This specialised approach is formed of three parts: structural releases, unwinding and rebounding. See video.
Celine encourages her clients who are receiving MFR to be proactive in their own healing and wellbeing. You can expect to be continuing the good work at home in between sessions.
